Spinney View Barn is a special barn dating back to the 1700’s which has recently been renovated, with magnificent oak beams and original character, this splendid barn also enjoys luxurious furnishings, a court yard with BBQ and glorious views over the surrounding National Forest. If you are looking to take things at a slower place, then Spinney View Barn will provide the perfect place for you within the heart of the National Forest. Spinney View Barn comfortably sleeps six in two spacious double bedrooms (one with en-suite) and a third twin room. All rooms have windows overlooking the countryside. Spinney View Barn has a large spectacular lounge with two double patio doors overlooking the courtyard during those warm sunny days.

With direct access to the National Forest from your own door, Spinney View Barn is perfectly situated on the owners non-working farm for walkers and all those who enjoy the outdoors and is a place where you can listen to and watch various wildlife (over 100 bird species observed locally), yet is only a ten minute walk to the local village. Here you will find a range of facilities including; a grocery store, post office, St Mary’s church (14th Century), some local pubs and an excellent tea room at the Beehive Centre which also has well stocked lakes for excellent fishing. Just over a mile away is the Forestry Centre where you can see some great birds of prey, join organised cycling trips and lama walks, have a go at archery, or spend some time with the children in a dedicated play area.
For many of those staying at Spinney View Barn in South Derbyshire, the main appeal of the county will be the unspoilt scenery of the Peak District in the north of the county 45 minutes drive away. However, there are many other attractions waiting for you. Derbyshire boasts a number of fine country houses, including Chatsworth House & Gardens, one of our finest stately homes with a magnificent chapel...see below for further suggestions.
